If you want to buy real estate in an exciting city with plenty of entertainment and recreation, choose a city that has a bustling and lively downtown core... like, say, Huntington Beach! Downtown Huntington Beach, California is more lively on a daily basis than KMFRC Kingston Military Family Resource Center on the day the troops come home. Whether you're just visiting or buying real estate, make sure downtown Huntington Beach is on your list. This article provides a quick overview of the things you can expect to find there. In other words, the things you're currently missing out on!

Restaurants and Clubs

Downtown Huntington Beach is where all the best restaurants and clubs are, so if you're looking to go out for a night on the town so you can wear one of your beautiful new Sophia Tolli dresses, this is where you'll be headed. Food styles range from the Hawaiian barbecue of the Aloha Grill to Irish drinking, revelry and cuisine at the Killarney Pub and Grill. As befits the Spanish heritage of Southern California, some of the best Mexican food can be found in the restaurants along Main Street. If you're just looking to have a drink, you could listen to some blues music at Perq's Night Club or have a martini at Chimayo on the Beach.

Shopping

The shops along Main Street and in Downtown Huntington Beach are the best places to look if you're in the market for surfing gear, beach apparel or Surf City souvenirs. Pick up a swimsuit at Dare Me Bikini or Billabong and a surfboard from Sakal Surfboards and you'll be ready to hit the beach. The spas and beauty services shops can give you a pedicure after you wipe out or sell you the hottest new microdermabrasion cream to soothe your sunburn. Surf City Store on the pier is your source for official licensed Surf City merchandise and souvenirs. If your looking for something a little more eclectic, you can try somewhere like the Rock n'Roll Emporium or the Kite Connection.

Movies at the Pier

The Huntington Beach pier isn't just a great place to watch the kids surfing, it's also a great place to see a movie! While some days the theater is showing art house films that would only be of interest to students of the local faux painting school, every Thursday during the month of August the theater at Huntington Beach pier shows family movies for free to coincide with the SoCal Film Festival. They're popular titles, too, like Finding Nemo or Shrek.

Surf City Nights

Surf City Nights is a special festival held every Tuesday year-round in downtown Huntington Beach. It capitalizes on everything that makes Huntington Beach unique, from surfing to farmers markets, and places it all together at one time to make it easier for more people to enjoy. It has a laid-back feel, not like the black-tie glamour of corporate event planning. Toronto's got nothing on it, so come down and check it out, Tuesday nights from 5-9. There will be food booths, merchandise tables, live music, a video game theater for the kids, and more. You can stroll at your leisure, because the streets are closed off for the event.
